Membrane: PTFE
Market Sector: Transportation
Project Size: 21,000 sqft
Architect:
Owner: Airport Authority
Completion Date: June 2019

If you’ve ever been to the Orlando International Airport, you may have noticed all the tensile membrane structure canopies at the various arrival and departure terminals. Originally designed and built by Birdair back in the early 2000’s it was time to replace some of the existing PTFE tensile canopies due to weather wear and tear over the years down in sunny central Florida. Big Span Structures was contracted by Birdair, Inc. to provide fabrication and installation to replace the existing PTFE membrane in several areas at the airport with new material. The current total amount of membrane replaced was approximately 21,000 sqft.
