Big Span is pleased to announce a new contract to design and build new PVC tensile membrane canopy structures at the Loggerhead Marinelife Center in Juno Beach, FL. The following areas at the marinelife center that will incorporate the tensile membrane structures include the Discovery Canopies, the Amphitheater, Café Terrace and the Turtle Yard canopies. A total of 7 different white colored PVC structures with a total combined surface area of 11,200 sq.ft., the purpose of the tensioned fabric canopies are to protect the turtle exhibits at the marinelife center. Big Span's scope includes design, engineering, fabrication, supply and installation of the white PVC solid fabric, white painted structural steel framing system, cables and end fittings, clamping and hardware. Loggerhead Marinelife Center is a 501(c)3 non-profit education and ocean conservation facility located on the Atlantic Ocean in Palm Beach County, Florida. The facility houses a variety of exhibits, live sea turtles and other coastal creatures. Exhibits include a massive prehistoric Archelon sea turtle replica, salt water aquaria and displays of local wildlife, as well as educational displays about South Florida's marine environment.
