Expected to be fully completed by 2026, the Honolulu Authority for Rapid Transportation (HART) has designed/developed a series of rail stations to serve a wide variety of passengers and include features and amenities for a safe and comfortable commuting experience. Birdair, Inc. who was contracted to provide a variety of design-build tensile membrane structures for many of the rail stations, subcontracted Big Span Structures to provide fabrication services for the PTFE membrane to be installed at the new group of Kamehameha Stations. Those stations include the Highlands Station, the Pearlridge Station and the Aloha Stadium Station. Fabricated at Big Span's Guadalajara manufacturing facility, the total combined surface area of fabricated PTFE-coated fiberglass membrane provided by Big Span was approximately 30,000 sq.ft.
